Noun ancient Cambodian word game involving the scrambling and unscrambling of the letters in a word or sentence; encoded message. (There may be an almost infinite number and variety of rules. One rule is ដកបីស្រង់បី which means `3 by 3,' that is, the letters of the encoded message are to be extracted in threes, thus: ល្អក្រចិមិយូត្តនរៈ the first third letter is ចិ, then ត្ត then ល្អ (counting ន as 1 and រ as 2, then going back to the beginning.
